Proof of theory
See even this guy, he is on our side, but is dumb as dirt. Only survivior, though, of the Rosslyn massacre. He has come to the same theory as me though. But backwards. He doesn't understand. If we win, the Democrats win.

DC Invasion of N. VA Republican Ploy?
I have failed as a Thucydides. The fighting has been too fierce. There has been no internet. I just found a guy with satellite internet. There are lines in front of the computer. But fighters have the first dibs.
I have seen things I would never like to see. The ARL bombarded from the Cemetery. Boom! Boom! Boom! Constant pounding from two sides. We were scrambling. Their forces were strong. But, it is not true that they have prevailed. We still have a fighting shot. Don't believe the lies that are floating around. Even here, I met a young woman in Alexandria, who thought they had won, that we were the armies of DC.
They did win that battle, but they have not occupied the ARL. We've lost many great men. One of the fiercest Southern Force leaders, a man named Hero Henderson. Hero's squad was bombarded in Rosslyn, from where they were preparing an offensive attack on Georgetown. The plan was anticipated and Hero and all his men were massacred on the bridge.
That was our best hope. Offense. Now, having missed the opportunity, it will require tremendous effort to keep Northern Virginia out of District hands. I am not certain that it is worth it-- though the stakes seem even higher, with national repercussions.
I am shocked that we have stayed off of the news entirely. Leiberman even called for Youtube to take any videos mentioning the Potomac War off of the internet. I believe now that I know the reason.
Convalescing for a few days since the Battle of the Cemetery, I was bombarded by television coverage. It is all the election and the economy and nothing about us.
I now believe that John McCain is behind the Broken Square doctrine and the rationale supporting the invasion. Think about it, if Northern Virginia goes to the District, then Virginia will surely go Red. If we win, the state will go to Obama. The Potomac War will decide the presidential election.
Look at this quote from one of McCain's spokeswomen.
"As a proud resident of Oakton, Virginia, I can tell you that the Democrats have just come in from the District of Columbia and moved into northern Virginia," Nancy Pfotenhauer said,

See, she is using code words to signal the war. She knows about it. She planned it. So I am calling on all Democrats, and not only Virgnian's to come over to our side. And, residents of the district, think about what you are doing. How remarkable that the Republicans have gotten the people they most hate to do their bidding. This is so twisted that DC is fighting for Republicans and Virginia is fighting for the Democrats.

Reached Arlington
I have reached Arlington with Dave, George and Frederick. We have been shocked as we drove through the upper Commonwealth. We saw a charred car along side the road. Houses have already been abandoned. Others seem to be occupied by Freedom fighters up from the South-- though I have heard some terrible reports about how these guys are acting.
We are setting up camp now. I will post again with the Thucydidean details as soon as I have a chance.

Incipit Bellum
All my life, I have wished I could fight in the Civil War. I have been a hardcore Re-enactor for the last five years. No Farbs here, brother. I have fought for regiments on both sides-- which some people have said is farbish-- but I figure, why not experience it from both sides. I've already been re-enacting for longer than the Civil War lasted.
The thing is, now that there is real Civil War, and make no mistake, this Potomac War is a Civil War, I loathe it. It is a horrible thing and it has only just begun.
And yet, I must go fight. I will leave tomorrow for Arlington. I've got the truck loaded up. I'm ready to do what must be done. I would not if this were a war of aggression on the part of Virginia. But it is not. I am going to fight for the sovereignty of my state. They shall find that our Commonwealth is, as Hobbes said, a Leviathan.
But I trust their district, too, feels the same about itself. It shall be easy for none, but I pray it is harder for them.
Thucydides wrote his great history during the war itself. Here, when I have access to the internet, I shall post everything I can about the war. Not only my own experiences, for there are deeds, but also the words of men.
Good-bye, my darling. Tomorrow begins my Potomac War.
